Trixi Worrack won her second consecutive stage at Thueringen Rundfahrt on Friday and the fourth consecutive stage for Specialized-lululemon. With a time of 29’49”, Worrack finished the individual time trial ahead of compatriot Judith Arndt who moves into the overall race lead. Worrack’s teammates Amber Neben and Ina-Yoko Teutenberg placed 4th and 5th respectively.
“The girls have just raced so well together all week,” said Team Sport Director Ronny Lauke. “Its nice to see Trixi continue to get better every week. She’s really moved herself back up to the top of women’s cycling this year.”
“I’m excited,” said Trixi who was happy with the undulating course. “I felt really good again so things seem to be going to plan for me leading into the Olympics.”
Two stages remain for the stage race with the General Classification very tight; it will be an exciting couple of days of racing.
